About Us
People Help Exchange, Inc. (the Exchange) is a 501(c)(3) Georgia nonprofit founded in 2014 and later received IRS tax exemption on February 25, 2015. People Help Exchange was established to alleviate hunger in Henry County, GA, and surrounding counties. Today, our mission is to increase the well-being of our neighbors by providing access to resources that eliminate hunger and housing insecurity.

Founders, Jeffrey, and Tonya Lewis embody a true humanitarian spirit. They were once in need of shelter and food. Together, they rose above dire straits, and have turned their tests into a living testimony for others. In strong collaboration with Board Members, the couple gives of their time, money, and other resources to ensure homeless and/or hungry families have their needs met while mapping out an exit strategy from poverty.
We fulfill our mission by responding to the needs of the community through food distributions and supportive services for households that are behind on their utilities, rent or mortgage. Because we believe that access to nutritious food and housing is a basic human right, everyone at the Exchange works to make hunger and homelessness rare, brief, and nonrecurring in the communities that we serve. We also provide community linkages to organizations providing services that fall outside of our scope.
We believe everyone can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.
Our Mission
To cultivate an active and engaged community that confronts the escalating challenges of hunger and housing insecurity, fostering a future where everyone stands resilient and secure.
